Research area
- Fields of special interest of his research are biochemistry of fruits, plant secondary metabolites, and role of polyphenols in oxidative stress, HPLC techniques focused on electrochemical, DAD and MS detection. Expertise comprehends non enzymatic reactions and role of polyphenols in oxidative stress protection; role of sugars in oxidative defense and/or prooxidation; free radical mediated reactions.
- Special interest is given on phenolic metabolism, in particular in the apoplast and cell wall as model systems for the investigation of redox processes.
Skills
- HPLC expert
- Focused on Electrochemical, Fluorescence and MS detection techniques.
- Sample pretreatment and extraction protocols.
