Project description
The Bio4Future project aims to develop biopolymer mulch films made entirely from natural materials for use in agriculture, serving as a sustainable alternative to the plastic films currently most commonly used. The development and application of these nature-based films will significantly reduce plastic waste, environmental pollution, and the presence of micro- and nanoplastics in the soil. Additionally, the films are expected to improve the quality of the soil where they are used. Producing agricultural goods without accumulated micro- and nanoplastics has a positive impact on the health of people who consume these products. Bio4Future mulch films are biobased and biodegradable, making them suitable for use in organic farming of fruits and vegetables.
