Curriculum vitae

Professional development:

 

On June 1st, 1992 she started working as a researcher at the Center for Multidisciplinary Studies at the University of Belgrade. On June 10th, 1996 defending a Master’s thesis entitled “Potentials and Resources of the Goč Forest Area as a Basis for the Development of Integrated Management” in Section “Environmental Protection and Improvement”, she obtained the title of Master of Science in Environmental Protection and Improvement. After defending her master’s thesis and publishing a large number of papers, on June 19th, 1997 she was elected into the title of Research Associate at the Center for Multidisciplinary Studies at the University of Belgrade.
 
On February 16th, 2000 Dr. Dragica Stankovic moved her working position to the Faculty of Forestry, the University of Belgrade for an indefinite period.
 
At the Faculty of Sciences, the University of Novi Sad, Department of Biology and Ecology on October 27th, 2006 she defended her doctoral dissertation under the title: “Investigation of the effect of traffic on the concentration of pollutants in forest ecosystems of NP ” Fruška Gora”, with the aim of protecting and improving the environment”, earning the title of Doctor of Biological Sciences.
 
Within the cooperation between the Faculty of Forestry, the University of Belgrade and the Faculty of Forestry, University of Banja Luka, she was employed (2007-2012) in the subject Forest and Environment of the Faculty of Forestry, University of Banja Luka, where she was elected Docent on May 3rd, 2007.
 
On October 10th, 2007 she was elected to the title of scientific – associate, by the decision of the Ministry of Science of the Republic of Serbia in the field of biotechnical sciences – forestry.
 
On May 30th, 2012 by the decision of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Serbia in the field of biotechnical sciences – forest ecology and environmental protection, she was elected to the title of senior scientific associate.
 
On September 27th, 2017 by the decision of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Serbia in the field of biotechnical sciences – forestry, she was elected Reseaerch Professor.
 
Since January 1st, 2020, Dragica Stankovic, Ph.D., Scientific Advisor, has been appointed and employed as Director of the Institute for Multidisciplinary Research at the University of Belgrade.

Engaging in master and doctoral studies:

Research interests:

 

Research by Dr. Dragica Stankovic, Reseaerch Professor, in the field of biotechnology – forestry, narrower scientific fields of forest ecology, and environmental protection, includes studies and assessments of exposure, risks, and impacts of pollutants on the environment, and accordingly their impact on human beings. She is also engaged in the study of scientific aspects of environmental problems, which are based primarily on the study of the concentration and accumulation of pollutants in different plant species, as well as in all environmental media (air, water, soil) in urban and rural environments.
 
Dr. Dragica Stankovic’s research interests and activities in recent years have focused on the natural and anthropogenic sources of pollutants, the fate and effects of toxic heavy metals in natural and contaminated environments, locally, regionally, and globally.
 
In her work so far, Dr. Dragica Stankovic has participated in the realization of a large number of national and international projects, as well as in the work of a large number of national and international professional and scientific conferences.
